This Friday (Aug 7th) First Annual “Jazz Central” A fundraiser for the Keweenaw County Historical Society Central Mine Projects. 6:00pm-10:00pm in Central. Live Music by Steve Jones & The Garden City Hot Club with Gail English & rumors of Steve’s brother Nathan Jones making an appearance, Shari Kane & Dave Steele (street swing & stomp blues), Sheriff Ron Lahti, & at 5:30pm Father Eddy Corbin will play the old pump organ in the historic Central M.E. Church. Sound provided by Red House. There will be a silent auction with items from local artists and donors, a fifty-fifty drawing, t-shirts, and BBQ available for purchase from the Fitz! The concert will be held in the upper parking lot off Stagecoach Road in Central. For those of you who don’t know where Central is, it is on the left hand side of US 41 just passed Phoenix going towards Copper Harbor. It is directly across from Gratiot Lake Road. The order of music is: Father Eddy Corbin at 5:30pm, Sheriff Ron at 6pm, Shari Kane & Dave Steele at 7pm, and Steve Jones & GCHC at 8:30pm. Bring your cash or check books as there will be many opportunities to help raise funds for the restoration of beautiful and historic Central Mine Village, and to go home with something memorable!
